Founded in 2023 by Thao, a knitting and sewing enthusiast, The Knitting Swan represents her heartfelt contribution to the knitting community. Based in the picturesque surroundings of Kent, known as the "Garden of England," Thao draws inspiration from the beauty of her environment to create stunning and functional knitting accessories.
With a seven-year career in product development and a double degree from Yale University, Thao brings a unique blend of practicality and aesthetics to every design. She meticulously designs the construction of each product and fabric pattern, ensuring they serve their purpose while adding a beauty and elegance to your knitting experience. Thao’s vision for The Knitting Swan is to provide products that are not only useful but also a joy to use!
The Knitting Swan thrives thanks to a talented team of staff and seamstresses who work directly under Thao’s leadership. Many of the seamstresses come from families with long traditions in tailoring. Understanding the challenges many women face in balancing career and family, Thao is committed to offering flexible work opportunities. Most of her team members are mothers who work part-time or full-time from home, allowing them to pursue a career while caring for their children.
